Stuff where dreams are made of…

December 28, 2011

Once upon a time (actually it happened as recently as 2006) I fell in love with one of the most pretty ladies I ever met. She was not only pretty but smart also and her mind was fast and furious at times.

Unfortunately the conditions were not in favor to allow this beautiful love-seed to blossom. In stead of a rewarding relationship, I got a lot of misery. Misery not caused by others but by my own ignorance and expectations. I had a tough time letting go of this experience. But time goes on and heals the broken heart.

Today I’m back here at Kratomhin, the place where that love potential first saw daylight. The lady is gone. Leaving behind only this dress and those shoes.

Kratomhin is a lovely place. A resort surrounded by the beautiful, rolling hills of Wang Nahm Keow. Guests are pampered. Food is served hot and tasty.

Without that lady however, Kratomhin is like a heaven without angels. Like nirvana without deva’s.

It feels like the story is not over yet. It’s like the dress and shoes are waiting patiently. Waiting for Cinderella to return. They fit only one. That one.

It’s good stuff. Stuff where dreams are made of. Only that lady knows. Knows if she ever choose this fairy tale to be true.

Il Mare. Or how changing choices create reality.

July 30, 2010

“Il Mare” is a good example of how our choices create reality.  This Korean movie portrays beautifully different potentials based on different levels of awareness of the main characters. The story is the following:

The present (1998) Sung-hyun (male) communicate with the future (2000) Eun-joo (female). Her future self is more aware than the present (1998) about what she really wants in life.

The present Eun-joo is in love with another man.  She chooses the potential to marry him.  Therefore there is no time and space to start something with Sung-hyun.  After she finds out that he has an affair while working abroad, she has a hard time.  But it is through this break-up experience that she opens up to Sung-hyun.  Her future self start communicating with his present self. They develop a deep friendship which could turn into a relationship if they both choose so.  Sung-hyun present self is clear about his choice, he wants to meet Eun-joo in the future.  They have a date one week ahead of Eun-joo future self. He does not show.

Eun-joo is disappointed. But she herself turns out to be the reason why he did not show.  After the appointment with Sung-hyun, she meets the other man again. She still clings to the old potential of them getting married.  A potential that once upon a time looked very promising but has no real future because of all that happened.  That’s why her future self asks Sung-hyun to interfere in the past and prevent the other man from leaving aboard.  After a big inner struggle, Sung-hyun respects her choice.  But while he tries to make the other man change his mind, he is hit by a car and dies.  That’s why he did not show up.

When Eun-joo finds out, this tragic experience opens up her awareness a little more. She clearly sees and chooses now the potential of a relationship with Sung-hyun. But is it to late?  Did she discover her deep love for him to late to make the relationship a reality?  Her future self hurries to let him know her feelings and she cancels her request to interfere in the past.

The movie ends with a changed reality. Sung-hyun did not try to interfere, he did not die and they finally meet face to face.

The movie is an artistic depiction of wisdom about day-to-day life. The reality we live in is indeed of our own choosing. Choices evolve because awareness expand. Awareness expands because experiences we go through.

Difficult experiences (broken heart, death of a loved one, …) are only “difficult” because it’s hard to let go. We cling to old believes and expectations because they are so comfortable and familiar.  Difficult experiences are in fact hidden blessings. They help us to open up.  They are telling us that the potentials we chose in the past, are not valid any longer.

Open up and be aware of all the other beautiful potentials out there. Potentials you never could imagine.  Potentials your future self will prefer better than the old ones.

So let’s open up!  Let’s evolve. Let’s create reality upon reality, more and more true to our deepest choosing. Let’s be free.

PS: Apart from the story, the movie is worthwhile to watch for the beautiful cinematography and skillful acting. It’s my first encounter with Korean cinema and it will definitely not be my last. Here is the trailer:

Ans’ dream.

October 19, 2007

Ans' dream.

The picture expresses much better then these words a childhood dream of Ans. When he was young and innocent, the dream occured several times. A very simple dream. Two white doves towards a blue sky. Sometimes resting, sometimes flying around. Not much happening. The dream left him with an immense peaceful feeling.

While growing older, Ans realised that this dream is all about his life. Living carefree, full of inner peace, and sharing his beauty with another white dove and the world, that’s what he was born for. While growing up, he discovered that living carefree, full of inner peace is not so easy. That ‘s why he embarked on internal and external journey’s to learn. He discovered many dark spots on his white feathers, sometimes hidden underneath his wings. He got angry at them, ran away and fought with them. Nothing worked. At last, he allowed the rain of inner awareness to clean the darkness away.

His feathers are now white and shiny. He loves to fly freely around just for the fun of flying. While drinking in a pond, his own beauty reflects in the water. He is at ease with himself.

Time has come to share his beauty with others who have clear enough eyes to see. Time has come.

He is ready to undertake another seasonal journey, far away to the beautiful country of Thailand. This bird migration phenomenon happens because it just feels right inside. He does not know where he eventually will end, or what he will do. What he knows, is that his intuition always guides him to the right spot. To the right places and the right people to make this dream come true.

Is he and the world really ready to allow his dream to be lived?

Hope.

Boat ornated for Loy Kratong.

I like the melody and the lyrics. It is a song about never giving up. A song about keep going even when things look not always as you expect them to be. Doorgaan, no matter what. A song about hope and courage. Keep going on the road you had in mind. But have the courage to walk around the bend when a bend shows up. There will be even a straighter road

The song encourages to keep going:

Keep going in a speechless night,
Keep going with a wobbly certainty,
Keep going in a trench without light,
Keep going everytime you stand still,
naked in a hurricane.
Keep going when nobody expect you anylonger to keep going.
We ‘ll keep going until we are together.

“Hope is not the conviction that something will turn out well,
but the certainty that something makes sense,
regardless of how it turns out.”

~Vaclav Havel~

We zullen doorgaan (Ramses Shaffey)
We zullen doorgaan, we zullen doorgaan

We zullen doorgaan, we zullen doorgaan

We zullen doorgaan, we zullen doorgaan

We zullen doorgaan, we zullen doorgaan

We zullen doorgaan, we zullen doorgaan
We zullen doorgaan, tot we samen zijn

I wanna be loved by you…

March 11, 2007

The need to be loved by others is the Mother of all other needs.
Needs make you dependent on outside energies.
You are not free.

Drop the need to be loved by others to discover the energy-source within.
It is an infinite well of
wellbeing that makes it easy
to love yourself and others as they truly are.
This discovery will set you free.

I am beautiful… ~Intimacy with myself as base for true friendship.~

February 27, 2007

Intimacy is a willingness to expose our deepest feelings and vulnerabilities. Real intimacy is only possible with the trust that the other person will treat our openness with care. Ultimately, intimacy has to be grounded in an inner strength that knows that even if that trust is betrayed, we will not suffer any permanent damage.
~Osho~

ans-2007-duitsland-3.jpg

The last two months I experienced the above quote in my own life. I like to be open and to share what is going on inside myself, especially with friends. Normally, I have a healthy amount of trust to do so. But at the beginning of this year my trust got weakened by a difficult experience I had with a friend here in Thailand. I thought we were good friends but she let me know that this was not the case and that even the opposite was true: I was a bad man and she wanted me out of her life.

I was surprised, confused and felt like a victim. I did not understand why she felt like this and there was no way to find out. In stead of following my victim feelings and creating some drama, I respected her choice and stay out of her life.

The last two months, I ‘ve spend most of the time on my own. I went inside, trying to understand why I was suffering. The reason is very simple. My friendship was not completely based on inner strength but on expectations. Expectations I had because of the experiences we shared in the past. Once this was clear, I used the rest of the time to go beyond these expectations and victim-mindstates. Beyond, I discovered this inner strength. It feels like strong life energy running through my body. The mind is very calm and I just enjoy to be with myself. From this space it is easy to accept and love others as they truly are, whatever they may say, changing from moment to moment.

I experience that it is easy to drop out of this inner strength. That’s why I want to develop the connection with the core of my being even more and use it as the foundation for all my friendships (360 and in real life).

I like my Thai friend. She is just herself eventhough it seems sometimes harsh. Just by being how she is, she gave me a great gift. The gift of selfdiscovery. The gift of true friendship.

Your friend,

Ans

Beyond paradise: profusion of love.

January 24, 2007

I am not using now for a long time a cologne spray or perfume. It is not allowed in the temple. This is one of the eight rules you have to follow while staying in a temple. A strange rule. I never got the reason behind this.

Anyway, now that I am out of the temple, I use my freedom to enjoy the pleasures of my nose again. Smell is one of the senses to experience life! Do you remember the book “Perfume” by Patrick Suskind? I saw recently the movie here in Thailand and it reminded me how big the influence of a fragrance can be.

Recently a new fragrance came my way. “Beyond paradise” by Estée Lauder. For the ones who don’t know yet, I like to share. Sharing the subtle fragrance itself is not (yet) possible here on 360. We have to be happy with sounds and view. Do you know that the perfumer uses not less then 13 flowers to create this fragrance? Beautiful, good smelling flowers. Grenouille, the main character in the book, uses also 13 notes to create his perfect perfume. But in stead of the flowers, he uses the smell of 13 … girls.

“Estée Lauder Beyond Paradise frees your mind and takes you on a journey of the senses, transporting you to a world filled with optimism and wonder. It’s a fascinating blend of tropical wetness, zesty freshness and a burst of floralcy.”

That is what the company says on their website anyway. But if you take a look at the advertisement, it can be true. Flowers opening up as a symbol for people freeing their mind. I love it!

The music used in the ad is by Madonna: Love profusion. Abundance of love. I like the song and the clip, especially because of the two white doves flying freely towards the blue blue sky. Two white doves on a blue background is a childhood dream of mine. I never forget the peace I felt, while dreaming this dream.

I hope your senses are indulged for a while, but nothing better as smelling the real thing.

profusion of love.

De rechte weg.

September 10, 2006

The straight road.

I was walking along a road.
I called it a straight road.
It was not a straight road.

I reached a bend.
I ‘ll never walk around this bend, I thought.
I did.

I walked into an even straighter road.
I called it walking what I was doing.
It was no walking.

I reached another bend.
I ‘ll never walk around this bend, I thought.
I’ll never turn this bend, never ever.
I did.

I am walking along a straight road.
On this morning, I am walking on a straight road.
I called it a straight road.

It is a straight road.
